oor saloon – practice listening

OOR SALOON is an event and production context at the interface of art, soundart and self-organised knowledge exchange in Zurich. Since 2014, we have been organizing listening formats with a focus on «ethics of listening» – socio-political, embodied and queer practices of listening in their respective situated contexts. We are interested in the politics of sound, the emancipatory potential of sonic space and relational approaches to listening. We operate at the interface of experimental sound art, performances, intersectional queer-feminist practices and community building. We initiate and organize collective sound installations, sound performances, listenings, sonic lectures, workshops, concerts and releases.

Within OOR SALOON, edition fink organised art book-related events from 2014-2022 with the format ‘fink&friends’.

From 2014-2022, OOR SALOON was active in the record and art book shop OOR RECORDS and organized events actively and continuously at the same address and at various institutions and self-organised spaces in Zurich and beyond. Since the closure of the record shop in 2022, OOR SALOON has been organising selectively and nomadically.
